This is a custom rolled steel handrail, with starfire tempered glass inserts. We did a waterfall edge on all the posts, for as seamless of a transition as possible.
This is your somewhat standard currently .5"x1.5" solid flat top cap, with .5" square solid balusters run horizontally, with a twist!
Instead of welding the .5" solid square centered on the inside, the client wanted it welded on the exterior.
Overall, it is a pretty cool effect, and the client got what they had envisioned
This was a complicated, but worth while project. 1.5"x.5 solid top cap, solid steel curve detail, forged, tapered, and individually lagged perfectly though the finish floor.
Curve detail.
It was slightly complicated getting the tapers to line up perfectly, but with some math, it was no problem. Each baluster was cut, lag tig welded to, and driven into the finish floor, creating a seamless look, that was very easy on the floor guys.
This was a fun project! the top cap is made out of rift sawn white oak, that we milled in house, attached to .25"x1.5" flat steel, custom handrail brackets, and 1/2 solid round balusters.
a good view of the landing detail. I've got to say, straight runs are far simpler. This was prior to paint and stain.
Detail of hand rail splice. We take attention to detail and quality very seriously, not only do we want our work to look good, we want them to stand the test of time.
Curved metal handrail, 3/8"x1.5" flat steel topcap, with 1/2 solid round balusters, and 1.5"x1.5" square tubes as posts
I was pretty happy with this one, my curves came out accurate, it's level, even where the curve comes to the post, and it's very solid.
We roll all of our steel onsite, to ensure accuracy, and to improve work flow, by being able to make minor adjustments as needed to make sure your project comes out perfect

Interior hand and guard rail. .5"x1.5" solid flat as the top cap, .25"x1.5" as the horizontal balusters, and custom handrail brackets.
I really like the handrail brackets, it gives it a very sleek, contemporary look. We make all Custom handrail brackets in house, so you can have them made in any standard steel stock size. these are .5" solid square.
Another view of this handrail. I had to zoom out to get it into view, in reality are portions of the big run are equidistant.
Exterior handrail. prefabed sections welded onto 1.5 square tubing, with cover cap for baseplate
This is a fairly common, cost effective way to close in large areas, like pools. This height meets insurance requirements on residential pools.

We did have to custom make the curves, but that is not a problem at all!
